Bodies that do not settle into one species.
Sally von Rosen (b. 1994, Gothenburg) is a Swedish artist based in Berlin. She studied philosophy at the University of Gothenburg and holds an MFA from Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, including a term in performative studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Working across sculpture, performance, drawing and painting, she makes hybrid bodies that look at the political ecology of objects.
Her sculptures in bronze, resin and fibreglass arch, fold and balance on narrow, claw-like points, always about to move. Performance and drawing run alongside them, treating objects as active presences that change how bodies relate to one another.
